Post-Election FAQ

On June 18, the College of Bishops interviewed C4SO’s Bishop-Elect and gave their consent to his election. Consenting to episcopal elections is one of the most important things the College of Bishops does together. That’s because a Bishop is not just a Bishop for his diocese, but for the whole Church.

According to the Canons of the Anglican Church in North America:

By the tradition of Christ’s One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, Bishops are consecrated for the whole Church and are successors of the Apostles through the grace of the Holy Spirit given to them. They are chief missionaries and chief pastors, guardians and teachers of doctrine, and administrators of godly discipline and governance.

On August 1, the Diocesan Bishop-Elect will begin two months of training and orientation with Bishop Todd, who will continue in his role as Diocesan Bishop until September 31, 2025.

On September 27, 2025, we will consecrate and install the Bishop-Elect at Truro Anglican Church in Fairfax, VA. The whole C4SO community is invited. Learn more.
