ACNA ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL REPORTING

Each year we have an opportunity to provide strategic insights about the health and growth of our churches so the ACNA can best love, serve, train and equip us. If you’re a church leader, we ask that you fill out the ACNA’s Congregational Report as soon as possible.

Steps in the Congregational Reporting Process

Congregational Reports are due March 1. 

1. Get Started.

If you have logged in to the ACNA’s system before and remember your password, go here. If you haven’t used this system before, and/or despair of remembering your password, this Quick Start Guide will lead you through the steps to get going.

2. Check your church’s location and contact information.

Please make any corrections directly in the report. Be sure to check your church’s address on ACNA.org as well, so people can find your church in the locator. C4SO will make those changes to our church locator once the process is complete.

3. Fill out information about the size and health of your congregation.

Churches have different reporting capabilities, and if you’re a new church, this can seem challenging. Just do your best to report the data as accurately as you can. Where you are missing data and can’t estimate it, please answer “Not Tracking,” and consider implementing new tracking for 2026.

4. Begin financial reporting on Question 41.

You’ve probably considered most of this information as part of your own church’s financial reporting and budgeting in the New Year. This financial data is important for Provincial Reporting, but it is also the basis of C4SO’s budget process. Your 2026 projections will tell us how much we can invest in ministry this year. So thank you for your diligence in this area!

Hints for Financial Reporting:

  • Question 43 asks the amount of Operating Income given to your Diocese in 2025. This should equal the amount in your C4SO statement.
  • The ACNA defines Operating Income as: The total income used for operations including pledges, plate, regular offerings; as well as principal or interest from savings and trusts used for operations. They compare that to non-operating income, which includes capital funds and other non-operating designated funds.
  • The 2025 Operating Income given to your Diocese may not be the total amount that you paid to C4SO in 2025, as it will exclude directed donations for specific purposes, like a church plant, individual support or disaster relief.
  • Your C4SO statement should accurately reflect your 2025 giving.

5. Begin the forecasting process on Question 50.

There are many models for forecasting church revenue, so you’ll need to determine what works best for you and your situation. Please forecast as accurately as possible, considering 2025 income, historic growth rates, and realistic expectations for 2026. Unexpected things happen, and ultimately, this is in God’s hands. Simply do your best to set a realistic forecast.

6. Fill in the percentage you are committing to the Diocese for 2026 (Question 51), and fill in the amount you plan to contribute to mission (Question 52).

As part of C4SO’s 5/5 Investment Strategy, we ask each of our churches to give 5% to C4SO to help direct the centralized aspects of our mission, and to invest the other 5% on mission in your local area. If you’re not sure how to use the 5% for local mission, contact the diocesan office for ideas. This 5/5 strategy is powerful because it allows us to do the work of a missional movement, not an institution, fomenting the kind of missional activities that can only happen locally. We chose this model because 50% of our diocesan budget goes directly to mission.
