April is C4SO’s Professional Development for Clergy Month. Each year, we provide a new training* for our clergy to learn about trauma-informed care, spiritual abuse prevention, and creating a holistic safe church culture.
This year’s training is Navigating Clergy/Congregant Boundaries with Diane Langberg and G.R.A.C.E. on April 13 at 1 p.m. CDT on Zoom. If you are a member of C4SO clergy, your presence is mandatory. If you have a scheduling conflict, contact Director of Administration Erik Vinson.
*These trainings are specifically geared to clergy professional development and therefore are best suited for priests and deacons. If, however, a C4SO Rector requests to share the training with his church staff or volunteers, we are happy to provide a recording.

Additional Clergy Resources:
Every congregation should consider how it will address the presence of registered sex offenders in the life of the congregation before a request is received from an offender who would like to participate in the life of the church. This has become an increasingly frequent issue in churches, as the number of registered sex offenders in the country is growing and is now more than 750,000.
In a world where the vulnerable continue to be exploited, the Church must take action in safeguarding the physical, emotional and spiritual health of every person in its care. When allegations of abuse, harassment, financial impropriety, etc., arise in a congregation, this guide provides clarity to the complex and difficult process of investigating those claims. The Church can then better fulfill its God-given responsibility to nurture and protect his people.
