Episode: Patrick Wildman on Advent

Published On: November 22nd, 2022

Bishop Todd Hunter continues our “Advent: A Storied Season” series with long-time friend and C4SO’s Regional Dean of the Midwest Patrick Wildman. Patrick shares how he uses the readings and practices of Advent to orient his church toward mission. Patrick and Todd also dive into scripture to explore various angles of exegesis and faithful preaching during the season of Advent.

For those who don’t know Patrick, he would best describe himself this way:

“Without a doubt, being a part of Christ Church (Overland Park, KS) is one of the greatest blessings of my entire life. I became a part of the staff in 2000, was ordained a priest in 2005, and was named the Senior Pastor in 2008. I am married to Stephanie, and we have two wonderful daughters. Beyond my family and Christ Church, I have a few other interests. People who know me would immediately say that I am passionate about Alabama football (Roll Tide!), KU basketball (Rock Chalk!), and walleye fishing. This trio operates as my personal, liturgical (a customary repertoire of ideas, phrases, or observances) calendar: fall and early winter are dedicated to the Tide; winter and early spring are for the Jayhawks; and spring into early summer is for planning and executing my yearly Canadian walleye fishing trip. Then it’s time to do it all over again.”
