Episode: Sarah Shin and Shin Maeng on Advent

Published On: December 3rd, 2024

This special holiday episode of the C4SO Podcast is hosted by the Rev. Vania Gomez of C4SO’s Racial Diversity and Justice Team. Vania interviews Sarah Shin and Shin Maeng about their new children’s book, The Deliverer Has Come: A Christmas Story, a racially inclusive Advent resource that situates the nativity story within the narrative arc of scripture. Their conversation engages themes like pursuing dreams, raising our children immersed in the stories of the Bible, waiting, evangelism and the creative process.

Dr. Sarah Shin lives in Aberdeen, Scotland, and teaches Charismatic Evangelism and Church Planting at Westminster Theological Centre. She was recently awarded her PhD in Systematic Theology from the University of Aberdeen, where she researched the connection between atonement and ethics. Sarah is the author of Beyond Colorblind as well as The Deliverer Has Come.

Shin Maeng is an artist and illustrator who holds an MA in Urban Leadership from Gordon Conwell. He loves music, stories, Marvel comics, and creating, and he has a passion for justice and seeing God move. See his artwork.
