Thank you so much to all those who attended this year’s Diocesan Convention, especially those who served as Clergy or Lay Delegates! Bishop Todd enjoyed the opportunity to share a bit about where we’ve been and where we are headed, as well as highlight some of our key diocesan leaders and initiatives.
Bishop Todd’s Address

Bishop Todd shared how C4SO derives its vision and values from the overarching narrative of scripture—and how that grand story informs our future.
Financial Report

Patrick Wildman, Chair of the Finance Team, gave us a snapshot of the financial health of the diocese and shared details of the 2022 budget. Our Clergy and Lay Delegates voted to approve the budget and the 2020 Convention minutes.
A Light in the Darkness: Video
On the video, we learned about the fruitful efforts of our:
- Canon for Ordinations Trish Nelson who oversees C4SO’s ordination process
- Regional Deans who stand on the frontlines of C4SO and hold our national diocese together
- Canon for Church Development Kris McDaniel who helps established churches in other denominations or spaces complete processes to discern whether C4SO would be a good home for them
- Director of Church Planting Brad Swope who helps potential church planters complete processes to discern calling, context and future plans
- Leader of the Revelation 7:9 Task Force Jin Cho who helps develop a culture that puts into practice the value of raising up women and men of color in ministry
- NextGen Leader Aaron Buttery who leads a team that encourages local churches how to discover, develop and deploy the next generation of spiritual leaders
- Canon Theologian Scot McKnight who, along with our other three Canon Theologians, lends his expertise, knowledge and discernment to the whole diocese
- Ombudsman Kimberley Pfeiler who handles all reporting matters for Safe Church Training
- Global Consultant Manik Corea who helps C4SO get involved in what God is doing around the world
PLUS…
- Ongoing initiatives such as Safe Church Training, the C4SO Podcast and the C4SO newsletter
Thanks to Seth Carnell of Orange Hat Films for capturing C4SO’s heart on video, and the Rev. Amanda Goin Burgess for serving as our narrator!
