After 15 years of faithfully championing the work of C4SO’s local churches, equipping church planters and young leaders to embrace their calling, and shaping imaginations for entrepreneurial mission, our Founding Bishop Todd Hunter is retiring as Diocesan Bishop effective April 20, 2026.

Bishop Todd will function as C4SO’s Diocesan Bishop over the next 22 months during the search, election, consecration, installation and training of his successor. Candidates will be chosen by a search committee, similar to last year’s process of electing our Suffragan Bishop Brian Wallace. The search committee will interview and narrow down the candidates, and at a specially convened Diocesan Convention in Spring 2025, C4SO’s clergy and laity will vote on which candidate to elect. The consecration of C4SO’s new Diocesan Bishop is tentatively planned for Fall 2025.

Retirement means Bishop Todd will conclude his service as Diocesan Bishop and devote his efforts to content creation and discerning future ministry involvement with his wife Debbie.

Though we feel the loss of our beloved founding leader, we look forward with hope to all God will continue to do in and through the Diocese of C4SO. We celebrate Bishop Todd for who he is, how he has led our diocese and the many ways he has impacted each of our lives. Under his leadership we’ve grown from a grassroots church planting movement into a thriving, self-sustaining diocese built on the values of kingdom, Spirit, formation, mission, and sacrament. Bishop Todd raised up a mature and gifted senior leadership team that will guide us through this transition into a hopeful future.
