Episode: Faith & Vocation: Christ Church’s Vocation Initiative
Today we start a new series on Faith and Vocation. As God’s image bearers, we were put on the earth to love God and creation – including and especially other people – and to be loved by God in community with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each one of us is called to join God in the work of restoring and redeeming brokenness: to create, heal, enliven, organize, plant, fix, cultivate, architect, strategize, and love, and there are millions of unique ways God calls us to participate in this work, including worship, prayer, and evangelism, but also washing dishes, writing code, and trimming trees.
Our guest for the first two episodes of this series (and then the co-host for the rest of the series) is the Rev. Bill Walker, the Director of Vocation at Christ Church in Austin, TX, and also the Assistant Director of Spiritual Formation at Truett Seminary. We discuss the Vocation Initiative at Christ Church.
