A once-in-a-generation capital campaign aims to equip new leaders, plant vibrant churches and sustain faithful clergy across North America.

Bishop Emeritus Todd Hunter has raised $800,000 from key donors to further a new chapter of mission in the diocese, and he now invites C4SO churches and parishioners to help him reach his goal of $1 million by Pentecost (May 24, 2026).

Over the past decade and a half, the diocese has grown from a small band of congregations into the largest and fastest-growing diocese in ACNA, but is still centered on pursuing the same kingdom vision:

“I want to see tens of thousands of people encountering or returning to Jesus through mission-minded churches led by fully equipped young leaders,” Bishop Todd says. “These churches will serve as instruments of kingdom renewal in their neighborhoods, workplaces, schools and families, demonstrating the love of Christ for the sake of others.”

The Forward Fund is designed to build long-term capacity for ministry under the leadership of Bishop Jeff Bailey, securing the resources needed to carry C4SO’s vision forward after Bishop Todd’s retirement at the end of April.

A Vision for Kingdom Renewal

The Forward Fund will resource three interconnected areas of ministry:

Equipping New Leaders addresses the urgent need for diverse, young, Spirit-filled leaders who are both theologically grounded and culturally savvy. Funds will support residencies, curacies, theological training and coaching that develops leaders equipped for today’s mission field.

Planting Vibrant Churches will support the establishment of new missional and formational communities across North America. C4SO’s Church Multiplication team will award grants on a case-by-case basis. These funds will cover launch costs, coaching and ongoing support for new Anglican communities.

Sustaining Faithful Clergy responds to a growing crisis in pastoral ministry. Recent research from Barna reveals that 38% of pastors have seriously considered quitting due to exhaustion, and one in five pastors consider self-harm. The Forward Fund will provide resources including sabbaticals, counseling, spiritual direction, retreats, peer support networks and wellness programs—all aimed at what individual clergy need for long-term health and fruitfulness.

“Clergy health determines church health,” Bishop Todd says. “By investing in clergy renewal, we’re strengthening clergy across the diocese and facilitating the long-term flourishing of our churches.”

Building Together as a Diocese

As we look forward to Pentecost and the sending of the Church (May 24, 2026), Bishop Todd invites every C4SO church, parishioner and friend to help close the gap between $800,000 and his goal of $1 million. All proceeds will advance one or more of these three critical areas. Individuals can give gifts of any size, and churches can engage through special offerings, mission budget allocations, cultivation of major donors, or simply through committed prayer.

“Every gift matters—truly,” Bishop Todd says. “A gift from a church plant of 30 people carries the same spiritual weight and significance as a major gift from a larger parish. We’re building this together as a diocese.”

The campaign is supervised by the Executive Leadership Team, Finance Team and Bishops, under the continued leadership of Chief Financial Officer Matt Brown, ensuring the same financial accountability and transparency the diocese has demonstrated throughout its history. Future updates will share specific stories of leaders trained, churches planted and clergy renewed.

“I am excited to see the tangible fruit of this fund,” Bishop Jeff says. “New curates entering ministry, church plants launching in strategic cities, pastors returning refreshed from sabbaticals. Thanks to Bishop Todd’s efforts, C4SO’s ministry will continue stronger than ever in this new chapter.”

The Forward Fund concludes on Pentecost (May 24, 2026). Help us get to $1 million!
