Earlier this month, Bishop Todd announced his retirement effective April 20, 2026, setting us on a journey to elect a new Diocesan Bishop for C4SO. The first step on that journey was forming a search committee in accordance with C4SO’s Canons.

Our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) formed a search committee comprised of four ELT members and two advisors who represent diversity in gender, race, geography, age and church size. The committee members below are responsible for examining C4SO clergy’s nominations for Diocesan Bishop and selecting the individuals they wish to interview.

The Very Rev. Drew Henley, Committee Chair, serves as the Rector of Redeemer Community Church in Atlanta, Georgia, and C4SO’s Regional Co-Dean of the East. He brings extensive leadership experience to the team, along with a remarkable ability to thoughtfully navigate a discernment process.

Stephen Shang is a member of the laity at Christ Church of Austin. He is an entrepreneur and has served on numerous boards.

The Rev. Amy Winkle is the Rector of Immanuel Anglican in Atlanta and a member of C4SO’s Finance Committee. She leads the staff in working toward the mission of the church and assists pastors and vestry to craft and implement its vision, practices, and programs.

The Rev. Kimberly Deckel serves as a priest and Executive Pastor at Church of the Cross in Austin. She has experience working in the local church, as well as para-church ministries, and spent nearly two decades working as a clinical social worker.

Shelly Hernandez is a member of the laity at Redeemer Anglican in Santa Cruz, CA. She currently serves as a member of Redeemer’s Vestry as well as in the children’s ministry.

The Very Rev. Jon Odom is the Founding Rector of Cornerstone Church in Tulsa, OK, which is preparing to launch its second parish. He also serves as C4SO’s Regional Dean of the Midwest. With 20 years of ministry experience, Jon has served in congregations ranging from a home church of 20 to a large fellowship of 3,000.

What’s Next in the Process
Now that we have our search committee established, here’s what comes next.

  • C4SO clergy will nominate candidates for Diocesan Bishop from within the diocese or from within the broader ACNA. We are accepting clergy nominations through September 30. Fill out this form to nominate a candidate.
  • The search committee will interview and narrow down the nominated candidates to be approved and selected by the ELT. The candidates will complete background checks and other provincial vetting processes.
  • The ELT will elect two or three candidates to be presented at a specially convened Diocesan Convention.
  • At the Diocesan Convention in Spring 2025 (date subject to change), C4SO’s clergy and laity will vote on which candidate to elect. Every C4SO clergy person will be eligible to vote, as well as two or more representatives from each C4SO church. The entire diocese will have several opportunities to get to know the candidates before the vote.
  • The College of Bishops will interview and approve the selected candidate to be consecrated in Fall 2025 (date subject to change).
